It wasn't even a month ago that I wondered whether or not Barack Obama would indeed declare his candidacy for President of the United States in the 2008 election.
Well, a lot can change in four weeks. In that time, Hillary Clinton made the obvious move and threw her hat into the increasingly crowded ring and Obama recently did the same. Does either stand a chance by beginning their campaigns so early?
While they are currently the most recognizable names for the democrats, do they stand a chance or will support wane as people tire of a nearly endless campaign cycle. After all, these two frontrunners declared their intentions around three months after the previous election ended. I know that I am not pants-pissing giddy yet because it's February of 2007. I know that these individuals are trying to get a jump on the money from a fundraising aspect but is it too much too soon? Will they spend time campaigning against each other and tear each other down so far that neither will stand a chance or will they simply keep things clean?
Who am I fooling? It will be a dirty, dirty battle up until the democratic convention which is a mere 18 months away! Get your party supplies now because nothing says fun like watching speeches followed by equal amounts of applause by people who are just a tad too happy to be standing on the floor of an arena holding a sign which would fit in better at a Twins game.

The Republicans have been tripping over their dicks for years, and the Democrats can't find theirs! I wish for a viable third party(and World Peace, cheap, clean energy source, cure for cancers,etc...).
I am running for First Lady. Have Obama call me.
I like politics but this is like 20 months before the election. This is unbelievable.
I guess this is what happens when you combine a bad president with a vice president who won't run.
Hell, Cheney probably would like to run but he'd have to hunting with more than a few guys to get to the front of the line.
