While I spent the weekend medicated in a haze so I could at least try to function as a member of society, each day has taken me further downhill than I thought I could go. Today found me barely moving from the couch with a cold that could tackle an elephant hopped up on both laughers and screamers but still coherent enough to carry on a conversation as my parents stopped by to visit briefly.
Saturday, albeit late in the day, found us venturing out complete with a medicated me driving to scope out prices on bathroom fixtures and the like. Tackling a bathroom remodel has me somewhat frightened. We have been saving for a while knowing that this was something we wanted to do since buying the house but spending that amount of money has me scared.
It's a rather insignificant amount of money when compared to the overall price of the house but the difference is that this is a room. It is something that has an impact on the resale value of the home. It will ultimately be our choices but nothing so over the top that potential buyers would be scared away at its opulence. Every choice leads to more questions; how will we supply power to the whirlpool tub? Will we have enough electricity on that particular circuit or does it need its own circuit because that would entail adding another breaker box in the basement which involves hiring an electrician. Without that, I can handle that task. How can we plan the remodel in stages so we still have a functioning bathroom or are without only for a minimal time?
These are the questions in the back of my mind as we wandered through Lowe's making actual choices based on what we saw to get a rough dollar figure. It's not very long until early May.

Welcome to my hell, bathroom remodeling sucks but at least you don't have any little ones running around so you can actually focus your attention to the task at hand.
Yea, but we have just the one bathing area unless I belly flop into the kitchen sink and have the missus give me an old-time sponge bath or I could go ultra-ghetto and fill a metal tub in the back yard and scrub up that way.
