Finding a better corporate name for our stadiums

Target Field. It doesn't exactly have a nice ring to it. It doesn't even come close to rolling off the tongue. Rather, it stumbles drunkenly off the tongue and falls face first in to a pile of its own sick. Unfortunately for us Minnesotans, it's the name for our new baseball stadium housing the mediocre Minnesota Twins and the name will stick for the next 25 years.

The second unfortunate part of the story is that its name is a tad redundant. This is so due to the fact that the city of Minneapolis is also home to an NBA team (Minnesota Timberwolves) that plays a couple of blocks away in an arena named Target Center.

Another couple miles away, the University of Minnesota football team will move in to their new stadium named TCF Bank Stadium. This will be where the team plays to a half-capacity crowd for five Saturdays each autumn and loses all five of those home games. Hooray!

Across the river in St. Paul is an actual decent arena. The Xcel Energy Center whose name seems somewhat familiar from something in the news a couple weeks ago is home to the state's NHL team (Minnesota Wild) and is the one arena which is actually nice. All of the seats (even the nosebleeds approximately 13 stories above the floor) are good, the sound is amazing and the team playing there doesn't totally suck.

It's a long time getting here but what corporate stadium names are present in your city? What names would be cool to see on a building for comedic value alone?

Slow down buddy lets not chuck the baby out the back of the truck. Twins are still in it have been playing above .500 baseball and are only a game and a half back.

Granted the name sucks I sent in $10 and requested the name to be Bizzio Von Bittensnatch Stadium but did not recieve any communication back. Needless to say I was dissappointed.

God help us if the Vikings get a new field too and Target gets involved with that.

I petitioned to Target to help us fund our little skate plaza up here in St. Cloud and they "politely declined." Apparently they didn't have a few thousand extra dollars lying around. I wonder why?

Corporate sponsorship can be obnoxious. In Atlanta, we have the Best Buy arena.

I am currently working to get "Stayfree Maxi Pad water park" built, but no one seems interested.

I'm so confused...I still think the North Stars play at the Met Center...or did they? Everything so complicated now-a-days....

God, I'm old.
