I can't believe I'm talking about the weather but it's a safe topic. Everyone's affected by it and everyone deals with it. It's a cozy and agreeable topic... until you throw global warming into the conversation.
Let's just say that it's been warmer than normal this winter. You can say that El Nino is to blame but that is only partially the cause. Look back at snowfall totals in the past half of a decade. The weather guy says we normally (according to past averages) have 33" of snow by now. This year it's less than 10 inches. Only one year in the past five topped that magical and elusive 33 inch mark - that was 2003-04. The 120 year average total stands at 45.8 inches.
Global Warming doesn't happen overnight. We'll still get cold snaps. The one coming this weekend is billed as the coldest in a decade. Cold weather won't entirely go away and neither will snow. This is, after all, still Minnesota. Winter won't magically disappear overnight, it's getting noticeably shorter as I can attest to by hauling out the Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving in a t-shirt and jeans. A decade ago you could at least count on having to wear a jacket on that particular Friday.
Summers won't magically become tropical either. They will get longer and a bit warmer with more instances of severe weather but not every year will be feature both warmer temperatures and increased instances of severe weather. We are warming the earth with the use of fossil fuels but we aren't totally taking Mother Nature's influence out of the picture. There will still be warm streaks, cold streaks and weather that seems to contradict global warming entirely. Look at the averages and trends though and you'll see the changes. Look to the poles as they'll bear the brunt of the warming.
With that being said, how about that weather? Pretty fucking cold today.
"How cold is it?"
So cold that my nipples could be seen straight through my sweater.

wow, your headlights were on? That IS cold! ;)
Stroke your ego ? Sounds more to me like you've accomplished that well enough on your own, Is there a mirror involved ? Actually,it all sounds more like a reaffirmation of some guilty liberal stance if you buy into global warming, or more appropriately known from here on in, according to the Goracle, as,"Climate change"
I mean really, if you're going to follow the moonbattery "sky is falling" we can control the weather crowd isn't the prerequisite that you stay up to par on the latest buzz words and politically correct deceptions ?
Maybe you should start paying more attention to the failed computer programs at the IPCC or the fact that even the UN has said that its own models of climate predictions are flawed simply because the computers cannot derive sufficient data to make such predictions accurately instead of throwing out your little fear mongering tid bits based on nothing more than a couple of personal observations that only reflect your very small corner of the world ?
In addition you might also want to pay attention to the fact (yea, facts, they're around) that in the last 5 years all predictions based on Climate change have not only failed miserably but to the contrary actually gone in quite the opposite direction.
There were no massive rising tides, no back to back hurricane every season, no shortage of Polar bears, and I have no idea where you dug up this crap the winters are getting shorter or your summers longer since the facts are they are getting longer and colder and have been for decades now.
You also might want to take into consideration that right now the north eastern section of our country is as F*CKING COLD as its ever been in decades !
This of course is the main reason that the other messiah, Al Gore , has decided to alter the term from "Global warming" to climate change.
Its not "warming" anymore.
What this does to those unwitting fools is to allow for the ability to blame any change in the weather on just about any activity that mankind puts forward further enabling him and the worshiping lemmings to continue their march in the name of greeniac corporate welfare and fraud
