Libby guilty, Cheney needs to be next

Lewis "Scooter" Libby was found guilty yesterday on four of the five counts against him. How many days until Bush pens a pardon for the fallguy of his administration? Hell, pardon the guy. It will only solidify the fact that the majority of Americans know that the current administration occupying the White House have zero ethics and are nothing but a bunch of unabashed criminals who will stop at nothing to watch out for one of their own.

The implications, though, of this conviction are far reaching. The names mentioned during the trial could bring down this lawbreaking house of cards once and for all. With Cheney and Rove being mentioned as conspirators during the course of the 14 day trial, imagine for a moment the charges that could be handed down and the potential of impeachment proceeding against the vice president, maybe even the chief of staff George Bush too. When was the last time a vice president was even mentioned in the same sentence as impeachment? This needs to happen. The power to do this is in the hands of the senate and they would come off as nothing short of pussies if they let Cheney and Rove walk free and hold on to their jobs. If impeachment of Cheney would fail, the senate would at least come off as a group that took action against someone whose treasonous actions endangered not only an undercover CIA agent but intelligence gathering leading up to the war in Iraq and the potential war in Iran.

Before you say that it would be hypocritical of the democratic senate to impeach the vice president, remember the impeachment proceedings a decade ago against Bill Clinton for the "crime" of having his wang mouthified. Having one's wang mouthified is not a crime, outing the identity of a CIA agent and then lying about it is. The senate that tried to impeach Clinton is celebrated to this day and why wouldn't a senate that impeaches the current Vice President be celebrated to?

You are much more than right. If we were to bring charges against Pres. Bush it would undo all the strengthening of the Executive branch that he did. It would also send a message to any future Politicans that they can be held responsible for thier actions. Sadly I doubt that anyone else will be charged.

I'd actually love to see Bush pardon Libby...

But I'll tell ya, if he did, that'd probably be the death of the republicans until they can come up with better trash against the Dems.

I'd vote for Oberman :) I think he has a personal vendetta against Busg but he's 99.9% right on the money.
